This is an AWESOME tutorial showing some of the new and basic Rhino 5 features. I really hope you take this tutorial all the way to the rendering and visualization stage.
At the very beginning, I can use CTRL+SHIFT+LCLICK to subselect the cylinder edge, but Gumball will not show, only when selecting the whole polysurface. I've unsuccessfully looked through Gumball's settings for a solution. Can you help?
Hi Marcos, Apologies on the delayed reply. The Gumball is part of the v5 beta of Rhino and is switched on/off for any selection at the bottom of the UI. TSplines also has their own manipulator which is activated separately through their settings.
Apologies as well to Anonymous for this delayed response. I'm not sure what the issue is with your gumball not showing up when subobject selecting. If you are still having similar problems, please email the 3dm file to Tech@McNeel.com and we'll take a look.
If you press ctrl before clicking and dragging the Gumball you will relocate it's position. If on the other hand, you start dragging a sub object selection and then press the ctrl key (before releaseing the LMB), you'll create a new extrusion.

ReplyDeleteAt the start when you are translating and creating a new surface with the gumball
ReplyDeleteusing Rhino v5.1.20808.315 (8/08/12)
if I press Control While holding the Red Arrow it just moves the gumball and doesnt create a new surface
